1️⃣ French Fries

Peel the potatoes and cut into strips. Soak in cold water for 20-30 minutes (for crispiness). Dry with a paper towel. Fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.

2️⃣ Fish Batter

In a bowl, combine the flour, starch, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Gradually pour in the cold sparkling water or beer. Stir until the consistency of thick sour cream.

3️⃣ Fish

Cut the fillets into large pieces. Dip each piece in the batter. Deep-fry or fry in a deep frying pan until golden brown (4–5 minutes). Drain on paper towels.

🍽 Serving

Serve hot with French fries. Classic accompaniments: lemon wedges tartar sauce green peas or salad.

πŸ’‘ Helpful Tips

The batter should be very coldβ€”this will ensure the fish is especially crispy. Don't turn the fish too often. If you don't have a deep fryer, a deep frying pan will do.
